Rick Parish

CHAIRMAN

Rick Parish is the founder and Chairman of M&O Global. He is one of six executive board members of the company.

Rick is an internationally recognised safety specialist. An ex-SAS soldier, Rick performed more than 400 rescues for the National Safety Council of Australia as Missions & Pararescue Commander.

Rick founded M&O Global in 1997, offering internationally accredited mobile training services to the oil & gas industry with his innovative mobile HUET training module. Combining his world renown safety training expertise with his international business and marketing skills, Rick has turned M&O Global into the leading provider of offshore safety training in the world. Under Rick's entrepreneurial leadership, the M&O business has gone from being a small start-up operation to a global company providing safety training to thousands of people each year across six continents. As of 2008, M&O Global also joined the Wood Group, further cementing its international networks. As Chairman Rick provides leadership, vision and direction to M&O Global's operations, expansions and acquisitions. 

 

Andrew Maffett

Operations Director

Andrew is the Operations Director of M&O Global. He is one of six executive Board Members of the company.

With his expertise in safety training and operations, Andrew has been instrumental in the success and expansion of M&O Global and is an essential member of the M&O management team. Andrew joined M&O in 2002 and was a shareholder in M&O Global before the Wood Group acquired the company in 2008. He has more than 20 years experience in best practice safety training, having previously worked for National Safety Council of Australia as a Para-Rescue Officer and Manager of Land, Search and Rescue and running his own business conducting leadership and team building safety training.

As COO, Andrew is responsible for M&O's global operations, particularly the strategies and systems through which M&O mobilises its people, services and equipment. The network of global resources he has created means an M&O training team can be at any global location within seven days or less. Andrew is also responsible for ensuring that M&O's training courses are best practice; that they are maintained, quality reviewed and upgraded to guarantee clients world-class training.

Andrew is known within M&O for his love of detail and his dedication to quality. His intimate knowledge of the locations where M&O Global provide services means Andrew is adept at being both pragmatic and intuitive about how to provide training services in many different environments. 

 

David James

Commercial Director

David is the Commercial Director and sits on the Board of M&O Global.

As one of the founding members of M&O Global, David's experience in international commercial matters including accounting, tax, audit, contract negotiations, costing, treasury, legal and acquisitions, has been instrumental in transforming M&O into a global company with operations on six continents.

As Commercial Director, David is responsible for working on commercial matters for M&O's existing business, joint venture partnerships and integrating new business acquisitions into the M&O group. David has extensive experience in international finance and has worked in the construction, defense, shipping and industrial services industries, as well as health and safety training. His speciality is project development and management in volatile foreign business environments.

The vast number of markets in which David has operated has given him a detailed knowledge of the tax, accounting and legislative requirements in countries and regions ranging from the UK to China, Papua New Guinea, the USA, Africa, SE Asia, Brazil, Central America and Kazakhstan.David is a member of the Australian Society of Accountants. 

 

David Sones

Group Financial Controller

David is the Group Financial Controller for M&O Global. David is responsible for the fiscal governance of M&O Global and its subsidiaries. He is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Group's financial and accounting strategies, practices and policies. David is a Chartered Accountant and senior executive with more than 20 years experience in finance and management in multinational companies. Having worked predominantly for the retail and service sectors, David has over his career been based in Africa, South America, Europe and Australia. David has a strong commitment to good corporate governance and accountability and enjoys working across diverse disciplines and cultures. 

 

Darryn Chelley

Regional Director - MENA

Darryn is the M&O Regional Director of MENA, with more than 20 years experience in training for the oil & gas industry.

With his expertise in emergency response and safety training, Darryn has been instrumental in the development of M&O training courses and high standards. Darryn has extensive international expertise having worked in training centres around the world including Scotland, South East Asia, South America, North Africa and New Zealand.

Darryn joined M&O in 1999 as Manager in New Zealand, overseeing the design and build of M&O's world-class training centre in New Plymouth. Now based in Scotland, Darryn is responsible for ensuring that M&O's global training courses comply with M&O's quality assurance guidelines, and meet and exceeds international standards and requirements.

His role involves regularly reviewing, auditing and upgrading M&O's training services to ensure that every M&O client receives world-class training, every time. Darryn is also involved in new M&O Global ventures and start-ups, design of new training centres and facilities, and the selection and training of new training staff. 

 

Shane O'Sullivan

Regional Director - Australasia

Shane O'Sullivan is the M&O Global Regional Director of Australasia and is located in the Head Office in Perth, Western Australia.

Shane manages the deployment of all training resources and personnel associated with Trainstation training projects, Risktec's international operations and the Head Office administrative staff. Shane previously served for some 22 years with the Australian Army, 17 of which were with the Special Air Service Regiment. His vast experience in operations and communications and his ongoing involvement in military training provided the experience for his initial employment with M&O in 2001 as the Global Training Manager.

Further experience with the oil and gas industry has seen him work in all facets of the company and he now bring this expertise to the international training environment through the management of M&O Global's on-site training services. 

 

Richard Harbron

Business Unit Support Manager

Richard brings his vast safety training and management experience to M&O Global as Business Unit Support Manager.

As Business Unit Support Manager, Richard is responsible for the operational management of M&O training centres in a number of locations throughout the world, to ensure international compliance and maintain M&O Global's ability to deliver world class, quality training anywhere in the world. He is also the OPITO approvals co-ordinator, responsible for ensuring all new M&O Global training centres achieve OPITO standards and approvals.

Richard has a strong background in safety training and skills, having served 21 years in the Royal Australian Air Force in combat survival, safety, security, training, leadership and management roles. Career highlights include two overseas operational deployments, unit command, and a two-year posting to Malaysia. Richard has a Masters of Management from the University of Canberra and tertiary qualifications in Training and Assessment, OH&S, Procurement, and Operations and Personnel Management.
